Quick Start (Teacher + Students)
Arkride is an offline-first quiz system that runs on the teacher’s computer (the server). Students connect using a browser (or Arkride Mobile) on the same local network.
- Teacher: click "I am a Teacher", set/login with the teacher password.
- Create accounts: add student accounts (LRN is used for login).
- Create exams: build question banks and questionnaires (with an exam code).
- Connect students: students scan the QR or type the link, then click "I am a Student".
- Run & monitor: start the exam, then check logs/results.
Tip: Everything is saved locally in the Data\ folder. No internet is required once devices are connected.
Network & Connection (Most Important)
Requirement: teacher device and student devices must be on the same Wi‑Fi/LAN.
Best method: project this page and let students scan the QR code below.
Manual method: students can type the link exactly as shown:
http://192.168.0.10:5000
If a device can’t open the link:
- Confirm it’s the same Wi‑Fi name (SSID) as the teacher computer.
- Allow Arkride through Windows Firewall when prompted.
- On iPhone/iPad, allow Local Network permission.
- Disable VPN/proxy on the device.
Teacher Setup & Student Accounts
- Click "I am a Teacher" and set the teacher password (first run only).
- Go to Accounts and add students (single-add or import).
- Students typically log in using their LRN.
Data safety: regularly back up your Data\ folder (it contains students, questionnaires, results, attendance, and grading files).
Create Questions & Questionnaires (Exams)
Arkride is built around two things:
- Question Banks: where you store questions (reusable).
- Questionnaires: the actual exam (select a bank, choose parts/items, set duration, assign an exam code).
Recommended workflow:
- Create/select a question bank and add questions.
- Create a questionnaire and set an easy-to-announce Exam Code.
- Verify the questionnaire has enough items for each enabled part.
Conduct the Exam & View Results
- Students connect, then click "I am a Student" and log in.
- Teacher announces the Exam Code.
- Students take the exam and submit (or it auto-submits when time runs out).
- Teacher checks Results Log to see scores and timestamps.
Important: use stable Wi‑Fi during the exam. If the teacher computer changes networks, the IP link may change.
Attendance, Grading, Export, Backup
- Attendance: create a sheet per subject/grade/section/month, then mark daily.
- Grading: JHS and SHS grading sheets calculate weighted grades automatically.
- Exports: results and sheets can be downloaded/exported on their respective pages.
- Backup: copy the entire
Data\ folder to a flash drive/cloud regularly.
